Anthozoan Veil Workshop
Delft University of Technology
Delft, NL 2018
November 12-17 2018
The Anthozoan Veil project was a collaboration between the University of Waterloo’s Living Architecture Systems Group (LASG) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) Hyperbody in support of a student workshop leading to the creation of a responsive architectural prototype. The workshop was organized and presented by TU Delft’s Science Centre and was preceded by preparatory talks as well as an introductory lecture by Philip Beesley. Readings, pattern-language for digital fabrication and proposals for complex-system exploration were provided beforehand. Three academic units focused on robotics in architecture, software and interactive systems, and architectural components and involved students and professors of Industrial Design Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering to build a new interactive installation entitled Anthozoan Veil, which was presented at the 2019 TodaysArt Festival in the Hague, NLD.
